What kind of challenges do you solve?

Anyone in the world can become a patient. This gives us the challenge of designing an application that truly works for everyone. Some patients are tech-savvy, while others have limited digital skills. Some enjoy reading, while others struggle with basic literacy. Some have full control of their bodies and others have shaking hands. It’s wild.

Accommodating all the types of humans is very fun and rewarding.

What impact does your work have?

Remote care has grown rapidly in the past few years and our Luscii solution is now used in most Dutch hospitals. We’re also scaling up globally, which is really exciting. Recently my uncle even used our app for a few months.

What’s your favourite thing about working at Luscii?

All my fellow Luscians are incredibly smart and passionate about what they do. Each of them brings something unique to the table.

I also love that everyone is free to explore roles beyond their main focus, which allows people to grow in wonderful new directions. I mostly work in UX, but when I need to take my mind off problems, I draw cute cartoons for medical educational content.

Any advice for someone thinking about joining?

You should feel comfortable making decisions and taking ownership of whatever you choose to do. You’re trusted to be the specialist in your field. If something causes friction in your work you should raise the tension so it can be fixed.
